17 Sep Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson in ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’: Film Review
Patrick Hughes’ action sequel brings Salma Hayek from the sidelines to become listed on movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. A by-the-book sequel to a movie that has been currently striking in its unoriginality, Patrick Hughes’ The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard provides numerous explosions, chase sequences and items of nasty discussion that could scarcely register as humor should they weren’t being delivered by a few of Hollywood’s many stars that are charismatic.
The main one smart thing the movie does is market Salma Hayek, because the eponymous partner of Samuel L. Jackson’s hitman, through the little but scene-stealing part she played within the film that is first. Maybe admitting that the original’s pairing of Jackson with Ryan Reynolds (the bodyguard) led to one thing significantly less than classic buddy-pic chemistry, Hughes and business make Hayek’s foul-mouthed brawler a partner that is equal.
