Tinder is establishing brand new security features today, including a photograph verification system that’ll spot a blue check mark on daters’ profiles, a partnership using the security software Noonlight to provide daters a good way to phone crisis solutions, and an element that flags possibly unpleasant communications.
The photo verification system calls for daters to have a selfie in realtime that fits a pose shown by a model in an example image. Those pictures are then delivered to Tinder’s community team, which verifies that each and every user matches both the offered pose and their selected profile pictures. If everything lines up, they’ll get a blue check mark, which can be supposed to offer their possible matches satisfaction they won’t be catfished.
For the time being, people are going to be checking the photos and verifying that individuals are whom they do say they are, however the objective is always to offload that task eventually to pc software. It is not clear when that’ll take place, when.
